Support

There are many support services within college that you can use. Check out the Welfare page for more information on counselling and medical help in college.
 
Oxford Friend is a voluntary organisation that provides free and completely confidential information, support and counselling services for the LGBT+ community in Oxford. You can get in touch on their helpline, 01865 726893, with questions about being gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans*, or anything else to do with gender or sexuality.

 

Events in Oxford

Oxford has a very active LGBTQ+ Society which hosts a wide range of popular social events. Their Website has information on upcoming events and resources on being LGBTQ+ in Oxford. Join their mailing list or check out their Facebook page for updates.

The society also works closely with OUSU’s LGBTQ+ Campaign, which is the political campaigning arm of Oxford’s LGBTQ community. The campaign is free to form its own policy and choose which issues to focus on, and has regular open meetings where everyone can get involved. Their Facebook page has more information on open meetings and other events.

 

General Information

The NHS website has resources on LGB and transgender health, with resources on sexual health, coming out and transitioning.

The Terrence Higgins Trust provides information on safer sex and HIV/AIDS and has an advice helpline on 0808 802 1221. They have offices around the UK, including one in Oxford.
